Carly Taylor
Carly Taylor is a battle-tested trial attorney with a powerful record of success both prosecuting and defending criminal charges across Texas.
Nationally recognized as an elite advocate, Ms. Taylor has worked on nearly every type of criminal case, from misdemeanors to murder. The breadth and depth of her experience allows Ms. Taylor to construct complex and strategic defenses, while expertly identifying weaknesses in the State’s case.
Born and raised in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Ms. Taylor grew up in the small town of Kerrville, with big dreams of becoming an attorney. Upon graduating from Tivy High School (2004), she earned a full academic scholarship to Texas A&M University. While in College Station, Ms. Taylor received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (B.B.A. 2007), and was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Moving to Houston in 2008, Ms. Taylor began her legal studies at South Texas College of Law (J.D. 2011), and completed an internship with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office – one of the largest prosecuting offices in the United States.
A little girl’s dream became a young woman’s passion for advocacy and the courtroom, as Ms. Taylor began her legal career proudly representing the State of Texas as a prosecutor.
Throughout years of public service, Ms. Taylor became disillusioned after witnessing firsthand the abuses of discretion by those who wear the proverbial “white hat.” These experiences led her to leave the badge behind, rededicating her career to fighting for the citizen accused, while seeking accountability for those that abuse the privilege of power.
In 2022, Ms. Taylor joined Trey Porter Law to add her dynamic skills and deep experience to the firm’s established foundation of delivering uncompromising results and client-first service.
Glowing Client Reviews
Trey is the man! I hired him because I had overheard a county court judge mentioning how awesome of an attorney he is, so if an endorsement from a judge won’t convince you then I’m not sure what will. I sure do hope I never find myself in a pickle ever again but if I do, I would hire Trey in a heartbeat. He’s honest, transparent, doesn’t beat around the bush, and will work tirelessly so that your clean record stays clean and unblemished. 5 stars, highly recommend!
I recently hired Trey Porter Law to help our teenage daughter with a drug charge. In the state of Texas she was being charged as an adult which carried a much stiffer penalty. Trey is very responsive, helpful, knowledgeable and is always available to answer any questions or concerns via phone, text or email. He was able to negotiate on her behalf so it was a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Trey Porter Law.
